Managing Partner at Campolo, Middleton & McCormick, LLP, A Premier Law Firm
Joe Campolo serves as the Managing Partner of Campolo, Middleton & McCormick, LLP, a premier law firm with offices in Ronkonkoma and Bridgehampton, New York. Under Joe’s leadership, the firm has grown from two lawyers to a robust and highly respected team of over 30 lawyers servicing clients in a wide range of practice areas—and continues to grow—with a deep commitment to the Long Island community.
Clients and the news media have described CMM’s lawyers as “fearless” and “exceptionally talented,” possessing “deep knowledge” with a “first-rate intellect,” and having the unique ability to “effectively partner with clients.” In 2017, CMM was again voted the Best Law Firm on Long Island, prevailing over a field that included many larger and long-established firms. The firm has also been awarded the prestigious Business Achievement Award from HIA-LI and Corporate Citizenship Awards from Long Island Business News and Child Abuse Prevention Services (CAPS), as well as a spot on the U.S. News & World Report list of Best Law Firms.
Prior to starting the firm, Joe served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps. He is a graduate of Stony Brook University and Fordham University School of Law. He serves on the boards of the Tourette Association of America, Hauppauge Industrial Association (HIA-LI), United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) Long Island, American Red Cross on Long Island, and the Long Island High Technology Incubator (LIHTI), as well the Advisory Board of the Staller Center for the Arts at Stony Brook University.
You Have to Bleed to Succeed
Everyone says they want to be successful. Everyone says they want a lot of money. But the truth is, many people don’t want to put in what it takes to get there.
Newly divorced with a young child, Joe Campolo had no savings, no network, a mountain of student loan debt, and a job paying $35,000 per year. But rather than complain or wait for an opportunity to magically appear, Joe read all the books he could on success and leadership. He used vacation days and his own money to attend the Executive Business Program at MIT and a certification program at the Harvard Negotiation Institute to increase his skills. He built his network one person at a time and eventually started his own practice. Today, Joe is the managing partner of the premier law firm in Suffolk County and employs over 30 lawyers and 45 total professionals.
It hasn’t been easy – in fact, it’s all-consuming. But success has to consume you. You have to bleed to succeed.
In this talk, Joe draws inspiration from his grandmother, a single mother in the 1940s who worked at a sweatshop each day until her fingers were raw and bleeding. Joe will share how her work ethic shaped his life and career path, and the steps that will help you achieve the success you envision.
