Really, why in the world would Tom go to such lengths in his life including risking it?
On Sunday you can ask him this question directly as he will be at The Smithtown Library, 3 Indian Head Road
Commack, NY 11725 at 2:00pm
Because it is there! That is not an answer. Tom as well as you and I, want to improve ourselves and impact others in the process.
Tom has been very supportive of my efforts in many ways. He has helped me lose 25 pounds, climb Mt Washington, that is the photo I use for the cover of the speakers bureau, and was there when I did my first TV interview. Maybe we both had a lot to learn on that one and that was fine. We did. More importantly we both accepted the challenge because we were confident in our reasons for doing what we do.
Do you really know what you are trying to achieve and why? Figuratively we all do have “mountains” that must be conquered. Do you have a process to get there. I am making the assumption that you know where there is.
When I climbed Mt Washington with Tom and Tim Healy I knew where there was. The Summit. HA, was I wrong. Climbing that day and what ensued after was more life changing than I ever imagined. Yet what it took was an incredible training partner, Tim and the inspiration and guidance from Tom.
This was 2013, June of that year. I started at 193, Sorry that photo doesn’t exist. 🙂 Ok, it does but you get the picture. On that day I learned a few things. One is that the preparation was really the challenge and the climb can be the fun part. We did learn that day, and this year when I went back that the word fun can be substituted for pure determination. Ultimately on that first climb I learned what it means to have great accountability partners. They do show up when you need them and when tackling a large project you will need them, even if your mountain is in a boardroom setting.
This presentation by Tom will take you on a physical journey that most will not even consider let alone attempt. The emotional journey is different. If you are desirous of achieving a goal and want to gain insight into how to prepare, control your emotions, avoid negative speak by others then Tom’s presentation is where you should be.
His journey of becoming a helicopter pilot, a jet pilot, a chef, Mr Natural Universe at age 52, an multi-book author and now starting a career of public speaking has all been self-motivated yet it will be team accomplished. I am certainly glad that Tom is on my team.
This Sunday at 2pm he can be on yours. Join Tom at the The Smithtown Library, 3 Indian Head Road, Commack, NY 11725 at 2:00pm. Not onl;y will you enjoy the stories but you will walk away with a clearer understanding of what you own goals are or should be.
